Firefighters have contained a large scrub fire near Kawhia.
A helicopter with a monsoon bucket is continuing to douse the flames.
Fire communications spokesman, Jaron Phillips, says around 30 firefighters have been called in from Otorohanga and Pirongia, Te Kuiti and Raglan
"The latest is that crews have been brought in from around the Waikato. This fire, it's burning in quite dense bush and scrub - covers three acres. A caravan has been lost to this fire but no other buildings are in danger."
