Firefighters were early today battling a 40m scrub fire threatening houses on the North Shore's Stanley Point.
Fire Service shift manager Megan Ruru said about 12.30am that houses had not been evacuated at that stage.
Two fire trucks were at the scene, as well as a crew on the police launch Deodar, who were fighting the fire from the water.
