Scribe claims he was a "millisecond from death" when he was hit by an alleged drink driver on a late night trip to McDonald's after a heavy night of drinking in Auckland on Friday.
The hip hop star, real name Malo Luafutu, responded by allegedly punching the driver in the face.
Luafutu, 31, was heading for a meal on Karangahape Rd with cousin Oscar Kightley when an alleged drink-driver ploughed into their car.
Luafutu told more than 2000 fans on Twitter how the alleged drink-driver got out of the car and was a "dick about it" - so he smacked him in the face.
He wrote on the social networking website: "Few beers last nite [sic] , bacardis, Moet Chandon, QF shots unlimited, hit 2 clubs, got on the mic, had a car crash, punched a guy in the face. Mcds. Zzzzz."
He updated later on: "If u drink & drive, crash into me, then leave the accident scene, then get caught & get out of ur car & be a dick about it. I will punch you."
The Christchurch-born musician, whose 2003 single Stand Up spent 12 weeks at Number 1, later sent a third Tweet to fellow hip hop star Ladi 6, saying: "Seriously was a millisecond from death. Gave me a whole new perspective on shit. Lol."
Luafutu, who describes himself as the Dan Carter of rap, could not be reached for comment last night.
His manager Teresa Patterson said she didn't know anything about the accident.
