A raunchy commercial featuring a lingerie-clad Russian model will continue to screen on daytime TV after advertising watchdogs ruled it was not offensive.
The ad for the Calvin Klein perfume Euphoria shows Natalia Vodianova caressing herself while lying on a bed and a male model removing his shirt before kissing her.
The Advertising Standards Authority received a complaint from viewer M Lewis who had seen the ad during TVOne's Breakfast show in February.
The written complaint said the "suggestive" ad should not have screened when children could have been watching. "The female in the advert suggestively brushes her hand over her breast and also slides it down to her crotch area whilst wearing nothing more than a silky nightie."
Through its ad agency, CS Company Limited, Calvin Klein argued the commercial was "abstract" and "like a Mills and Boon cover come to life".
The authority rejected the complaint, noting the ad was for a product "associated with physical attraction" and did not reach the threshold likely to offend.
