Two former Auckland scout leaders were today each jailed for seven years for sexually abusing young boys.
Andrew John Pybus, 32, a courier driver, and Nigel Richard Fenemor, 48, an upholster, will each serve a minimum term of 3-1/2 years.
Both were scout masters who abused their positions of trust, the High Court in Auckland was told.
Pybus admitted nine representative charges of sexually abusing two boys, 21 charges of making objectionable material, and seven of importing objectionable material.
Fenemor admitted five sex abuse charges including two representative charges.
Justice Cooper told Pybus he had established a relationship with the first of his victims, whom he had befriended, and with the boy's parents.
The parents let their son go on a number of outings with Pybus and the abuse began in March 2002.
His second victim was a friend of the first and that abuse began during Pybus' role as a scout leader.
