The name of a Scottish man of who died in a car crash on Friday has been released.
Richard Webster Harbinson, 68, died in the accident on Waimarama Rd, east of Hastings.
The car he was driving crossed the centre line as he tried to negotiate a bend in the
road, clipped an oncoming vehicle and then spun off the road, crashing into a tree.
Hawkes Bay police said Mr Harbinson and his wife were in the country to visit their daughter, who lived in Havelock North.
Mr Harbinson's wife and daughter were also in the car and suffered serious injuries. They were recovering in Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital.
