The clippers were out for the Shave Lids for Kids fundraiser at Motat yesterday, with former True Bliss singer Megan Alatini among those helping raise money for cancer research.
Alatini, who shaved her head for the cause this year, was the MC and the day involved fun family activities and entertainment. She was aided by Vilomena Ole.
The event aimed to help the Child Cancer Foundation to raise their target of $50,000. Members of the public were invited to come along to the 1950s themed event and watch Kiwis shave their heads for the charity.
The foundation receives no funding from the Government toward the $5 million required each year for support services.
