Schools to teach real estate studies

Secondary schools will soon start teaching real estate studies.

The industry training arm of the real estate industry, Real ITO and the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand are working on level two or three qualifications for students to be introduced in late 2011.

Real ITO Chief Executive Lesley Southwick says the majority of people enter the industry as adults from a previous job.

She says there is also a high turnover of real estate employees each year.
