Wairarapa secondary schools are banding together to lift the profile of college girls' rugby in the region.
A series of training and development sessions for interested college-age grade players have been organised; the first of which will be held at Wairarapa College on Sunday, starting at 2pm.
Sid Tatana, coach of Wellington premier division women's rugby champions Eketahuna, and other top coaches from across Wairarapa, will take the girls through basic rugby skills and they will also participate in a mini 10-a-side tournament.
A driving force behind the training days is Wairarapa College head of rugby Rory Hughes.
