A schoolboy is in hospital after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing in Palmerston North this afternoon.
Police said the 11-year-old boy was struck on a pedestrian crossing on the corner of Freyburg St and Featherston St, near Ross Intermediate, about 3pm.
He was taken to Palmerston North Hospital, where police said he was in a satisfactory condition this afternoon.
Police investigating the matter would interview the child and the driver of the vehicle tomorrow.
