School with no pupils near Geraldine

Te Moana school, near Geraldine, has undercut Cattle Creek as the country's smallest school.

It had been thought Cattle Creek, in the Hakataramea Valley, with a roll of three, could not be beaten for size. But Te Moana school opened its doors for the new school year and is still waiting for the first pupil to arrive.
