KEY POINTS:
A driving school for children aged around 10 is providing educational data for road safety authorities in Britain.
French carmaker Peugeot set up the school 12 months ago in a theme park in Staffordshire - and it's quickly becoming the park's main attraction with a popularity rating of 9.5 out of 10.
The children and their parents are asked to rate the school's best and worst aspects, information researchers are using in planning driver education programmes.
Says Peugeot spokesman Andrew Didlick: "We think it's important to give as many children as possible the opportunity to experience driving situations at an early age.
"Many young people can't wait to get out in their own car, and by teaching them the basic highway code through the ride we are enforcing the need for driver and pedestrian safety."
The school, located on "Cred Street", begins with a briefing on safety and basic rules of the road before the junior drivers head out in a fleet of battery-powered Peugeot 207s.
It has its fun side, too. Drivers can head to the car wash for some bubble fun and a blast in the air tunnel, steer round giant hedgehogs on the zebra crossing, or weave around large bollards on the "advanced" drivers' course.
