A school counsellor at a Northland school has appeared in court charged with indecent assault after a student complaint led to a police investigation.
The man appeared in Kaikohe District Court this week and was remanded to reappear in the court on September 30.
The man has interim name suppression and the name of the school where he worked is also suppressed.
A support team from the Ministry of Education moved into the school this month after the allegation emerged.
The man was a counsellor working at the school when the alleged offending took place.
