A house and part of a school remain cordoned off in Tauranga this morning, as police investigate a suspicious death.
Merivale Primary School will be closed today as police continue their scene examination after a man's body was found in a house in Kesteven Avenue yesterday morning.
Board of Trustees chair Bruce Delamare said they decided to close on the school following advice from police.
"There may be some issues around evidence so it would have been just easier to have the school closed."
Mr Delamare has asked for parents "to make alternative arrangements to take care of their children and then just on Tuesday to return them to school."
