School bus in collision

Three ambulances were needed to ferry 10 children and two adults to hospital in Southland yesterday after a car and a school bus collided.

The collision about 8.15am near Isla Bank, between Otautau and Riverton, tipped the bus on to its side, but none of the 10 children aboard the bus nor the driver was badly hurt. The woman car driver was also unhurt.

The police serious crash unit was investigating.
