KEY POINTS:
A group of West Auckland intermediate students escaped with an exciting story to tell their mates when their school bus crashed in Henderson yesterday.
The students, believed to have come from Bruce McLaren School, were on an outing when the Ritchies bus left the road and came to rest in between a house and a power pole.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident but the Herald has been told it happened when the driver swerved to avoid an oncoming car.
A St John spokesman said two ambulances were called to the accident. One child had minor injuries, but no one needed to be taken to hospital.
