KEY POINTS:
A school garage, workshop and the horticulture unit have been destroyed in a fire at Papakura High School, south of Auckland.
The blaze damaged the school van, the caretaker's quad bike and the care taker's boat, said school principal Angela Appleby.
She said it was unclear clear what caused the fire, which broke out about 7.45am this morning.
"The school day is carrying on as normal," Ms Appleby said.
Three fire appliances brought the flames under control earlier this morning and three hours later hot spots were still being dampened down.
Senior station officer Alex Betteridge said an investigation is under-way to determine the cause of the fire.
