A leaflet drop in a leafy Auckland suburb suggests house prices there will plummet if rezoning plans go ahead.
The Electoral Commission has proposed altering Epsom electorate boundaries for this year's general election. If the plan goes ahead, some homes would be transferred to nearby Mt Roskill electorate.
Leaflets have been urging Epsom locals to lodge objections to the potential changes.
Traditionally, there has been a significant difference in price for properties within the double-grammar zone for Auckland Grammar and Epsom Girls Grammar and those just outside it - in some cases up to $500,000.
Principal Tim O'Connor said the information in the leaflets was incorrect. "Electoral boundaries and the grammar zone are decided in a mutually exclusive manner. We would not be affected by any changes.
