The Government will spend $150,000 investigating options for the clean-up of a contaminated former sawmill site near Minginui in the Whakatane district.
Environment Minister David Benson-Pope said the investigation would cover potential soil contamination from wood treatment and the disposal of contaminated wood waste at the site and a nearby landfill.
