Two men wielding a hammer and a saw robbed a Glendowie dairy just before 6pm yesterday.
The offenders ran to a getaway vehicle after taking goods from the shop.
The vehicle, described as in a rough condition with a black bonnet, was driven by a female and had three male passengers, all of whom were described by witnesses as Maori or Polynesian.
The dairy owners were said to have been threatened but not hurt.
