Saved by lifejacket

A woman's rescue from a sinking boat in the Hauraki Gulf yesterday might have had a different outcome if she had not been wearing a lifejacket, the Coast Guard says.

The woman clung to the side of the boat after it struck rocks while her husband swam ashore to raise the alarm.
