Samurai sword attack victim Matt Durham, who last week admitted to waving a crowbar at a group, has been arrested for breaking bail conditions.
Last week, Durham, 20, pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing an offensive weapon and a charge of breaching bail by failing to appear in court on a previous occasion.
The court was told between 30 and 40 people had been drinking at Durham's flat on the night of May 30, when a large group of Maori men arrived at the house.
Durham yelled racial abuse and waved a crowbar at the group, encouraging them to fight.
One of the group then slashed Durham's wrist, leaving his left hand dangling by just skin and tendons, police said.
It was reattached at Hutt Hospital after 10-1/2 hours of microsurgery.
Durham appeared in court again yesterday for breaching bail a second time, after he failed to tell police he was moving in with his parents, The Dominion Post reported.
He was granted bail again, but was warned it was his last chance to comply with his conditions.
He was due to appear for sentence next month.
