Police will today compare footage of two robberies at an Auckland bank that occurred within the space of two weeks to decide whether they are looking for the same offender.
In the latest incident, a man who made no effort to conceal his identity entered the Kiwibank branch on Great South Rd in Papakura just before 11am yesterday.
He handed a note to a female teller saying he was carrying a knife and demanding a certain amount of money.
The money was handed to him and he left on foot.
Constable Jess Clarke, of the Counties Manukau police, said a man entered the same bank, which is part of the NZ Post shop, on August 25 and demanded the same amount of cash the man had asked for in yesterday's incident.
Police are still looking for the man.
Yesterday's robber is believed to be aged between 30 and 40, has short black hair, a black moustache and was wearing black jeans and a grey polo shirt.
Ms Clarke said police would today look at closed-circuit television footage from the first robbery to see if the offender matched the description of the second robber.
NZ Post spokesman Keith FitzPatrick said staff had been offered counselling after the incidents.
