More than 70 Wairarapa needy families will receive plenty of festive cheer this Christmas thanks to the generosity of the Masterton community and Masterton Salvation Army.
This year Salvation Army Lieutenant Daryn Bishop and his wife Jess, with the help of volunteers, are helping parcel up the goody boxes with food supplied including lollies, soft drinks and home made baking.
Families will also receive a box full of presents for the children with toys generously donated through businesses and the Masterton community.
