KEY POINTS:
The Salvation Army is spreading Christmas spirit through song and music this year, with the launch of a new CD.
It's a Wrap, features carols in various styles including acappella and jazz. It also features world champion barbershop quartet group Musical Island Boys from Porirua.
The Army's territorial public relations secretary, Major Robert Ross, said the sales would help those in need.
"At what should be the most joyous time of the year, we see demand for our services increase by 20 per cent," Mr Ross said. "For just a $5 donation, shoppers can make a wonderful contribution to the Sallies and get a great Christmas gift for someone they love."
It's a Wrap can be bought from checkout counters at Woolworths, Foodtown and Countdown until Christmas Day.
