Details of the salary package Masterton District Council has offered its newly appointed chief executive Pim Borren are yet to be made public.
Dr Borren will succeed Wes ten Hove on June 30, the end of the financial year, although Mr ten Hove has indicated he will be leaving in late May.
According to the annual report 2013, Mr ten Hove's salary package was worth $190,403 a year.
It is not yet known whether remuneration for Dr Borren will match, or exceed, that amount.
Meanwhile sports fans in Wairarapa may be familiar with the name Borren through the local connection with Dr Borren's son, Peter.
