The remarkable domination of unheralded German Amelie Lux, world champion Alessandra Sensini and former Olympic champion Kendall continued on Thursday with the three women again occupying the top three places in the day's two boardsailing races.
Kendall had a third and an all-the-way win to remain third overall, just three points behind Lux and two behind Sensini, with three races left.
Coach Grant Beck said the light conditions all week had favoured Lux and Sensini, and Kendall was doing her utmost to hang in.
``Barbara is staying there, not because she's so good in light air, but because she's sailing really well and is just giving it everything,'' Beck said.
``If it wasn't for her courage, she wouldn't be there because, as good as she is in light air, it is not really her forte.''
The male boardsailors managed only one race and it produced McIntosh's first win of the regatta, lifting him up a place on the points table.
McIntosh also grabbed the lead early on and then sailed away to cross almost a minute ahead of the rest.
With four races to go, Austrian Christoph Sieber continued to lead the competition, four points ahead of Argentine Carlos Espinola, with McIntosh 10 points further back.
