Southland police are on the hunt for whoever was responsible for an attack on sheep and lambs that can only be described as sadistic.
Lora Gorge farmer Owen Hudson says it appears that someone has used dogs to round up stock and get them onto the remote road where they have been rundown and beaten viciously.
Owen Hudson says he has never seen anything like it in 40 years of farming.
"Yes, if we can get any help from anyone to catch these offenders because they certainly need some help, these people."
Owen Hudson says anyone who has any information that can identify the people responsible, is asked to call Constable Steve Winsloe at Winton Police or contact Crime Stoppers.
