The daughter of an "incredible" father who disappeared 10 years ago has learned he died in a car crash in Australia.
Robert Waikato Peipi, 57, died near his home in Bathurst, New South Wales, on June 25.
Australian media reported he was a passenger in a Ford station wagon that lost control on a corner and hit a boulder and a large tree.
Renee Peipi had not heard from her father for 10 years. She had posted a message on a missing persons website inquiring about his whereabouts.
In the notice she said: "My brothers Brynn and Daniel and myself would love to see him again. We miss him dearly."
She said her father was an "incredible man".
Peipi's family are bringing back his body to his home marae in Gisborne and he will be buried next week.
Sad ending to search for father
