A decision on whether Christchurch will host its planned Rugby World Cup games appears imminent.
Cabinet minister Steven Joyce says IRB officials have just arrived in the country, and they want to be as fair as they can in making the decision - which is why they are talking to the Government about it.
"They want to make a decision with everyone around the table coming to the same decision if at all possible," he told Newstalk ZB's Mike Hosking.
Mr Joyce says the decision has not been made yet.
