Wellingtonians are being warned to avoid key arterial roads, which are being blocked off for repair work.
Lanes are being closed on the corner of Wakefield and Taranaki streets in central Wellington.
Two lanes are currently closed to traffic, but police warn it's possible the entire road will need to
be closed within the next hour.
The disruption is because contractors need to remove a window from a building.
Police are asking motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area if possible.
