A Rotorua man dubbed the "runaway millionaire'' has appeared in the Rotorua District Court.
Hui "Leo'' Gao, who faces 16 charges of theft of $6.7 million and two charges of money laundering, appeared before Judge Phillip Cooper in court this afternoon.
Details of the appearance cannot be published.
Judge Cooper has remanded Gao on electronically monitored bail to next appear in court on June 14.
