The Wairarapa Rugby Union's council of clubs should review the programming of senior first division matches being played in Masterton.
Several times over the past couple of seasons two first division games have been played in Masterton at the same time but at different venues.
And it will happen again this coming Saturday when Masterton Red Star and Carterton meet at Memorial Park and Pioneer and Marist lock horns at the Jean Street grounds.
For the benefit of spectators it would make surely more sense to start one of the games at, say, 1pm and the other at 2.30pm, or have one as the curtain-raiser to the other.
The draw for Saturday is:-
Senior first: Eketahuna v Martinborough, Eketahuna at 2.30pm (G.Reisima; T.Roseingrave and N.Burt); Puketoi v Greytown-Tuhiurangi, Pongaroa at 2.30pm (D.Parker, Waikato); East Coast v Gladstone, Whareama at 2.30pm (D.Goodin); Masterton Red Star v Carterton, Memorial Park at 2.30pm (M.Porter; D.Hands and J.Parker); Pioneer v Marist, Jean street at 2.30pm (J.Kendal; M.Brown and C.Jefferies).
President's grade: Eketahuna v Martinborough, Eketahuna at 1pm (T.Roseingrave); Featherston v Greytown-Tuhirangi, Featherston at 1pm (G.Hall); East Coast v Gladstone, Whareama at 1pm (D.Howes); Masterton Red Star v Carterton, Memorial Park at 1 pm (J.Parker, Waikato); Pioneer a bye.
Under-21: Eketahuna v Te Kawau, Eketahuna at 1pm (N.Burt).
First XV: Kuranui v Wellington College, Kuranui at 1.10pm (K.Nalder); Rathkeale v Central Hawke's Bay, Rathkeale at 11am (G.Moorcock).
