Wairarapa-Bush Rugby Union chairman Graeme Reisima has paid tribute to the "sterling work" done for rugby in this region by the union's chief executive officer Phil Taylor, who will retire from that role on Friday after more than 12 years in the job.
"Phil has given us outstanding service and obviously we are very sorry to see him go," Reisima said.
"Not only has he done sterling work for us but he's highly respected by other unions all around the country for his excellent administrative skills"
Reisima said the WBRFU board would be meeting next week to start the process to find a replacement.
