A rubbish truck has overturned in central Wellington after a collision with a taxi.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Wakefield St and Tory St about 4am, police said.
No one was injured in the crash and there are currently no diversions, Central Police Communications Shift Inspector Ken Climo said.
Heavy recovery equipment was on site and the team was hoping to right the rubbish truck within the next hour, he said.
"I've just got my fingers crossed, and my toes crossed, hoping it's all done before the rush starts.
