A pair of rubberneckers who put themselves and police at risk during the siege involving gunman Jan Molenaar in Napier last year have been fined a total of $2500.
Shane Boyce, 23, and Chevelle Leese, 19, were charged with obstruction after ignoring police orders to take cover as Molenaar was holed up in his Chaucer Rd home firing randomly, after killing one officer and injuring two others.
In a Napier District Court hearing yesterday, the pair were criticised for their stupidity.
