The last of the walkers were almost in darkness due to the loss of daylight saving when the Ruamahanga Ramblers held an 8km "ramble" over the hills at Gladstone this week.
The combination of tarseal roads, forestry tracks and gravel roads mixed with a number of hills made the event most enjoyable.
This Saturday will see a number of Ramblers take on the Bush Harrier Club's half-marathon or 10km fun run or walk at Pahiatua.
Amongst those in the half-marathon will be Greg Lang, Ray Wallis and John Cromarty with the latter using it as part of his preparation for the Rotorua marathon
In the 10km walker's section will be Ali Lang and Shirley Wallis with several others also considering that event.
