The Masterton Returned Services Association has donated an electric wheelchair to palliative care in Wairarapa as a way of giving back to the community, says Masterton RSA president Bob Hill.
Mr Hill said the wheelchair had been gifted to the association, which was already running a fleet of seven mobility scooters that are hired out to members for a nominal fee.
"We see ourselves as people helping people and thought the chair would be of greater use and benefit to palliative care," Mr Hill said.
"The people of Wairarapa show us their generosity on Poppy day and this is a good way to give back to the community that helps us."
