A man accused of assaulting a bagpiper and threatening a man outside an RSA while screaming "f*** Anzacs" is on the run from police.
Patariki Walker, 20, is wanted on six charges including assault with intent to rob, burglary and breach of bail. Police say he is known to carry and use a knife, and should not be approached.
Police say Walker committed a "stream" of crimes in Helensville on April 22 and they want the public to help track him down.
The alleged crime spree started at 1pm at the RSA hall.
Detective Nick Poland said four intoxicated men carrying bladders of wine approached members of a pipe band preparing for a function. One of them, believed to be Walker, approached a 20-year-old who was tuning his bagpipes and shook his hand.
