A Roxburgh man accused of murdering his wife is to stand trial in the High Court early next year.
Warren Bruce Johnston (67) is charged with the murder of Lesley Ann Johnston, who died after a shooting incident at the couple's Roxburgh home on March 11.
Johnston appeared briefly before Justice Charles White in the High Court at Dunedin yesterday when Crown counsel Robin Bates confirmed the trial was scheduled to start on February 13.
The hearing was expected to take about two weeks.
At the request of defence counsel Anne Stevens, Johnston was remanded on electronic bail with existing conditions until February 13.
