A Central Otago man has been charged with the murder of his wife after she was shot at their Roxburgh home last week.
Lesley Ann Johnston, 60, was shot at her home on Friday, March 11, Detective Sergeant Derek Shaw, of Central Otago Criminal Investigation Branch, said.
Her husband, Warren Bruce Johnston, 66, was found at the house with critical injuries and flown by helicopter to Dunedin Hospital.
Johnston was arrested yesterday and charged with murder.
He appeared before a judge at a special court sitting in Dunedin Hospital today and was remanded on bail to reappear in Alexandra District Court on April 1.
