A roofer who suffered serous head injuries after falling six metres on Tuesday night has died.
Senior Sergeant Ross Bielby, of Tauranga police, confirmed the 45-year-old Tauranga man died in Auckland Hospital yesterday afternoon.
The accident happened about 8pm at a demolition site in an industrial area of Mt Maunganui.
The man fell from a roof, landing on his head and also sustained other injuries.
He was flown to Auckland Hospital for emergency surgery after initially being taken to Tauranga Hospital.
A spokeswoman for Occupational Safety and Health said an investigation into the accident was under way but it was not known how long it would take.
