Rolled kiwifruit truck causes big traffic delays

A rolled truck is expected to block off both lanes of State Highway 1 north of Warkworth for up to four hours this afternoon.

The single vehicle crash happened at about 2:45pm near Falls Bridge in the notorious Dome Valley stretch of road.

No injuries were reported.

Police said the truck had been carrying a container of kiwifruit, which was now spread across the highway.

It would be closed to north and south bound traffic for four hours while it was cleared, police said.

All traffic was being diverted on to State Highway 16. People heading north are being diverted along Kaipara Flats Road, just north of Warkworth, to State Highway 16. Motorists driving south are being diverted from Davis Road in Wellsford.
