A Hamilton woman has been admitted to hospital after a rock smashed through her windscreen and hit her in the face.
The rock, described as football sized, smashed through the driver's side of the car's windscreen this morning, Fairfax reported.
The woman was taken by ambulance to hospital with moderate injuries following the incident at 9.45am, Waikato Police senior sergeant Mike Henwood told Fairfax.
The woman suffered two broken teeth in the incident, he said, and was now in a stable condition. She spoke with police officers in the hospital and told them she recalled a truck travelling in front of her, but could not remember exactly what happened, Fairfax reported.
Initial police reports suggest that a rock fell off the back of a truck and went through the woman's windscreen.
