Roads claim three lives at weekend

One person died after two cars collided at Oakleigh, south of Whangarei, yesterday.

Also yesterday, a 24-year-old Australian man died near Roxburgh, central Otago, when his car spun out of control on a bend and slid into trees.

On Saturday afternoon, a 17-year-old woman died after a head-on crash with a Mr Whippy truck on State Highway 5, near Rotorua. The truck driver, a 53-year-old Hamilton man, suffered serious injuries to his legs.
