Police warned motorists to take care because of slippery road conditions after a truck hit a cow on State Highway One near Hunterville early this morning.
Inspector Tom Ireland said the dead animal's high fat content had made the road slippery.
The collision happened near Rowes Road, 7km north of Hunterville, about 6am.
