An Upper Hutt road had re-opened after a truck crash set 19 cattle on the loose this afternoon.
Police say the truck blocking Blue Mountain Rd has been moved and motorists can now pass, although they'd advised to take care.
The trailer that was attached to the truck remains down a bank and crane will be brought in tomorrow to move it.
Earlier, 16 cattle escaped from the trailer and made their way into bush. Animal control were called to the scene and vet was sent to help.
Police say temporary fences were built around the area some of them escaped to.
