Road may be named after golfer Campbell

Porirua City Council is considering renaming a street in honour of US Open golf winner Michael Campbell.

Titahi Bay Road would be renamed Michael Campbell Drive and Mayor Jenny Brash hopes the change can take place before the golfer arrives home in a fortnight.

She does not expect any opposition to the proposal.

Campbell followed up his US Open success with fifth place in the British Open this week.
