A second person has died after a road crash south of Cambridge this afternoon.
The crash involving two cars happened at about 1.40pm around 7km from the town on Cambridge Rd in the Rotoorangi area of the Waipa district.
One person was declared dead by police soon after the crash,
and in an update this afternoon police said a second person had died.
A third person was in hospital with serious injuries.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said firefighters had freed two of the people who had been trapped in the crash.
