Last night at Karangahape Rd gallery Artspace, food met art with a collaboration between artist Billie Popovic and Giapo Haute Ice Cream's Giapo Grazioli.
The unlikely team created an edible masterpiece featuring road cones bursting with bespoke ice cream. Guests at the gallery were invited to disassemble the work, removing the cones - made from orange-tinted white chocolate - to have them filled with cherry plum ice cream.
Mr Grazioli and Ms Popovic have been collaborating since last year and Ms Popovic graduated in 2012 from University of Auckland Elam School of Fine Art.
The artist's speciality is the crossover between art, object and product design.
